Mr Auko said he has briefed Governor Jack Ranguma over the issue and he has welcomed the idea.

He said donors will support through educating students from poor families.

“Starting next year, a large number of students in the county will be enlisted in the education program. Only orphaned children will be catered for in the project,” he said.

He lauded Ranguma for being development conscious noting that the donors support will alleviate poverty in the county.

“I have met Governor Ranguma and he is very optimistic about the project,” he said.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Wednesday, Auko said the donors will arrive in the county in June to roll out the programme by next year.

He further announced that the programme will entail giving out dairy cows across the county to vulnerable groups.

Auko said that they target to give out 50 dairy cows to women groups, the disabled and youth groups as a way of uplifting their economic status.

“This is one sure way of engaging the community to economical developments. The dairy cows will provide milk for sale but their calves will be rotated among the group members,” he said.
