Parents have been asked not to allow their children have access to mobile phones while at school.
This is after a recent survey revealed that majority of students still secretly use mobile phones in schools.
According to Kenya Parents Association (KPA) national chairman Nicholas Maiyo, parents should avoid buying the gatchets for their children who are still in primary and secondary schools.
He further urged parents not to allow children have access to social media platforms that might impact negatively on their characters and education.
"We all have a responsibility to ensure a child focuses on his/her education. If parents don't but mobile phones for their child then we won't have this issue.''
''Similarly a teacher has a duty to closely monitor the students and ensure they strictly adhere to school regulations," added Maiyo, Tuesday.
