Nyamira County woman representative hopeful Dr Annah Nyaera Omwega has asked politicians seeking various seats in next year's elections to stop bribing youth so as to woo them.
Speaking during a youths empowerment seminar at Ikonge, Omwega accused the aspirants of the taking advantage of the vulnerable youths to oppress them with money to get their support.
“Many politicians instead of looking for long-term solutions for the youths only want to blind them with a few coins to support them and after they are elected into office, they never remember them until the next polls,” she said.
“Let us open our eyes as youths. Let our stomachs not fool us because it will not be until after five years when you see such politicians again. Let us vote and support people who have long term solutions for us the Sh200 won’t help much, “ noted the aspirant .
This comes weeks after the some youths were left stranded during the opening of a new party offices in Nyamira after being duped that they would be given lunch and fare back home.
Several leaders across the county have asked the youths to shun such kind of leaders and support development-oriented leaders.
