The Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary Kisii branch Albert Ondimu has advised teachers in the county not to join the new teachers’ party known as Kenya Teachers Congress.
Speaking to journalist in Kisii town, Ondimu noted that the new teachers’ party is unconstitutional and has been formed by some teachers who lost in the recent KNUT election in Kisii.
“We have heard that some of the teachers who failed to be elected and re-elected to be KNUT leaders in Kisii county when we conducted the election have formed their party and they have started advising teachers to join the party,” noted Ondimu.
“Kenya Teachers Congress is not known anywhere am advising my teachers not to join the party since it is not known but join if you want at your own risk,” added Ondimu.
He also said they can’t allow teachers to be divided and asked such bogus party leaders to join KNUT fully to move forward in unity as Kisii KNUT leaders.
