Machakos county deputy governor Benard Kiala has asked his boss governor Mutua to stop being a coward by fleeing to evade prosecution and instead face charges to prove his innocence.
Kiala who was speaking on Saturday in Masinga said that by governor Mutua flying out of the country at a time like this shows that he is guilty.
"If the governor is innocent why should he flee, he should come back and prove his innocence as the people of Machakos are watching and waiting," said Kiala.
Kiala went ahead to ask Mutua to learn from president Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto who faced charges at ICC where their charges were dismissed.
"Uhuru and Ruto had cases at ICC but they never fleed instead they faced them and came back innocent and continued to rule, governor Mutua should follow suit and stop his hide and seek game," noted Kiala.
This is after governor Mutua allegedly flew to Dubai after his attempt last week to block his prosecution by EACC over illegal purchase of 16 motor vehicles for the county government failed.
