Yatta constituency MP Francis Mwangangi has urged locals to vote wisely in the August 8 general election.

Speaking at Ndalani town center on Thursday, the MP warned locals against being deceived by politicians who give empty development promises.

Mwangangi said that for years politicians have been deceiving Kenyans with promises they never fulfill.

He said that time has come for locals to vote for leaders who are development oriented.

“It's election time and politicians will be streaming here in search of votes, the advice I have for voters is to vote wisely,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Mwangangi noted that most politicians in the current government and opposition have done little to boost the living standards of the Kenyans.

He observed that many Kenyans have no access to basic needs like water despite having leaders who represent them in government.

At the same time, the MP asked locals to be peaceful and shun politicians who might want to lure them to violence.

He said that some politicians take advantage of the electioneering period to lure Kenyans especially youths to violence.
