Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has claimed that there is a wider plot by Opposition coalition NASA to swear in Raila Odinga on Tuesday.
NASA is set to hold a parallel rally at Jacaranda grounds as President Uhuru Kenyatta prepares to take oath of office for his second term at the Kasarani Stadium.
Speaking ahead of Uhuru's inaugural ceremony, Kuria asserted that Raila is planning to swear in himself and claim that it was a unanimous decision by the people.
“Dont be fooled. They will swear in Raila in Embakasi. Then he will say it was the people's decision not his,” he opined.
NASA's planned rally has, however, faced hiccups, with Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome declaring it illegal.
But in a statement on Monday, NASA lawyer Edwin Sifuna said the Opposition has fully complied with the law ahead of the rally.
“We have on behalf of NASA notified Soweto and Embakasi Police Stations with a copy to Mr. Koome of the memorial tomorrow. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Bibles,” he said.
