Kabogo claims that some politicians are luring Kiambu residents to transfer their voting stations to Nairobi.

The Kiambu governor claims that he has information that voters are being bribed to change their polling centres from Kiambu to Nairobi.

He said that the motive by the politicians is meant to ensure that Jubilee party wins the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the coming elections.

Speaking during a meet the people tour in Kiambaa constituency on Thursday, Kabogo cautioned Kiambu voters against being duped by selfish politicians.

“We have information that some selfish politicians are convincing Kiambu voters to transfer their voting stations to Nairobi,” he claimed.

The governor urged voters to reject any idea on voter transfer.

“You must vote in Kiambu to bring change you have always wanted, don’t be cheated by some selfish leaders who are out to satisfy their interests,” he said.

Kabogo said that he will raise the matter with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He termed the alleged voter transfer as an election malpractice adding that perpetrators engaging in it should be arrested.

The Kiambu governor appealed to residents to remain alert and be wary of politicians who are out to cause divisions and disunity as the 2017 general election nears.
