Ruiru MP Esther Gathongo has urged Kenyans not to be swayed by the political intolerance allegedly being perpetuated by opposition leaders.
Gathongo claimed that opposition leaders have shown acts of impunity and intolerance.
She said that the country cannot move forward if some leaders continue to perpetuate violence, hooliganism and impunity.
“It is unfortunate that leaders in the opposition have resulted to using violence as a channel of expressing their issues,” said the Ruiru lawmaker during the commissioning of the newly constructed roads in the constituency on Friday.
The MP said that it is time for Kenyans to note the kind of leaders they have and make informed decisions come 2017.
Speaking during the commissioning of the roads, Kiambu governor William Kabogo urged Kiambu residents to embrace peace.
Kabogo asked locals to shun leaders who want to engage them in malicious politics.
“We must remain united and work together towards making Kiambu a better place,” said Governor Kabogo.
