Kiambu governor William Kabogo has urged residents not to be swayed by petty and selfish politics being perpetuated by some politicians in the county.

Kabogo says that some politicians are out to deceive locals this electioneering period.

Speaking in Ting’ang’a Ward during a meet the people tour on Thursday, Kabogo asked locals be alert and shun politicians who focus on petty personal issues.

“It is election time and they (politicians) will come with different agendas to woe your votes, listen to them but don't be blinded by their petty politics,” he said.

Kabogo said that some politicians want to create enmity among the people by spreading propaganda.

The governor also asked locals to remain peaceful ahead of the polls.

He said that the county has partnered with other government agencies including the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to ensure peaceful 2017 elections.

Kabogo at the same time said that he is confidence of being re-elected.

The Kiambu governor who has been on a door to door campaign in the recent weeks indicated that residents still have confidence in him.

Kiambu gubernatorial seat has attracted various aspirants among the Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu who has vowed to give Kabogo a run for his money in next year’s polls.
