The senator claims that some politicians in the county have abandoned their duties and are now engaging in selfish and personal politics.

Speaking during a fundraiser at the African Inland Church (AIC) Bomani in Machakos on Sunday, Muthama claimed that some politicians were deceiving locals on development to achieve their personal goals ahead of the 2017 elections.

He said that time when politicians used to play tricks and lies are over and that the people have a voice to demand development.

Muthama urged Machakos residents to demand services from the top county leaders.

“The constitution gives you (locals) a right to question your leaders and demand for development,” he said.

The Machakos senator asked locals not to be intimidated or coward by selfish politicians.

Muthama further asked locals to remain united and supported Coalition or Reforms and Democracy ahead of the elections.

He said that Cord has an elaborate agenda for Ukambani locals and Kenyans at large.

The senator who hit out at the Jubilee government said that the Uhuru Kenyatta led government has failed to address pertinent issues facing Kenyans.

The senator exuded confidence that the Coalition for Reforms led by Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka will send Uhuru Kenyatta's  government packing in next year’s general elections.
