Speaking at Nzombe market during a tour of Kitui county on Tuesday, Mutua said that time has come for Kenyans to shun politicians who preach hatred and tribal divisions.

Mutua claimed that some politicians are on the ground to divide locals ahead of the 2017 elections.

The Machakos governor warned that tribal politics being perpetuated by some politicians will be a recipe for chaos if not tamed.

“Kenyans must keep off politicians who are known to preach and perpetuate tribalism and hatred,” he said.

The Machakos governor urged Kenyans to remain firm and only support leaders who have vision for development.

The Machakos boss also asked Ukambani locals to remain united.

He said that some politicians are traversing the region with the aim of causing divisions.

“We must be careful of people who are only interested in creating divisions and animosity amongst us," said Governor Mutua.

Mutua re-affirmed his commitment to agitate for development across the country though his Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement.

He said that the Movement agenda is to take development to grass roots.

The governor hit out at critics criticizing the movement saying that he will not be intimidated by criticisms.
