Waititu on Tuesday said that some politicians were inciting the locals against his leadership.

He said that politicians who engage in propaganda and selfish politics have no room in Kabete.

The MP asked locals to be careful and shun such leaders noting that their aim is to divide the people ahead of the 2017 general election.

“We should not listen or associate with politicians who are fond of spreading propaganda and hatred,” he said when he addressed locals at Uthiru Trading Centre on Tuesday.

The MP asked locals to support leaders based on their development agenda.

“Time has come for Kenyans to elect leaders basing on what they have done and not what they will do,” he said.

The Kabete  lawmaker asked locals to remain united ahead of the 2017 polls adding that he will fulfill all the development pledges he made to them.

Waititu said that he was working closely with the national and county government on development projects that will benefit the people.

On Sunday during a rally at Kabete town, Deputy President William Ruto assured residents of Jubilee government commitment to improve their roads, upgrade hospitals and promote security.

A section of residents has accused Waititu of focusing on the 2017 Kiambu gubernatorial elections at the expense of initiating development projects in the area.
