Youths across the country have been urged to boycott Cord’s calls to camp at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices on Tuesday next week.
On Tuesday, Cord leaders said that they will return at IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers next week in their bid to have IEBC disbanded.
According to James Kihara, a youth coordinator at Ndumberi Ward in Kiambu constituency, Cord is using youths wrongly to advance its agenda.
He said that young people need to stop being used and swayed by politicians who are only interested in fulfilling their own personal interests.
“Time has come for young people across the country to stop listening to politicians who are only interested in using them to advance their selfish gains,” he said.
The youth coordinator said that nothing can be achieved through mass actions and violence.
He urged youths to be peace ambassadors and help unite the people.
Mr Kihara at the same time urged the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to crack the whip on leaders perpetuate hate speech and incitement saying that it is the only way through which peace will be guaranteed before, during and after the 2017 general elections.
