ODM party leader Raila Odinga has asked youth to refrain from being used to cause chaos in the country during this period of elections.

Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya, as he handed over ODM nomination certificates to unopposed aspirants, Odinga urged the youth to stand firm for their party.

“I want to appeal to our youth to stand for this party and refuse to be used in schemes that only undermine our real work. They must refuse to be used to cause violence,” Raila said, Monday.

The former Prime Minister also called on the party’s election board to punish all those who would be involved in any election malpractices.

“National Election Board must crack the whip on election violence, fraud and bribery in this nomination process,” he said.

He further asked the aspirants to focus on ODM campaigns to ensure the Jubilee government will not get into power for another term saying they have taken the country to the wrong direction.

“We must all focus on how to get Jubilee out of the lives of Kenyans and put Kenya back on track,” he added.
