Addressing the first ever sitting of the county assembly since the swearing in of MCAs, the governor urged the legislative arm of his government to focus on service to the electorate through supporting his development agenda in line with his 2017-2022 manifesto.

"I want you to know your friends who served in the previous assembly did not survive the political axe because most of them spent most of their time scheming on how to bring my government down," said Dr Mutua.

He urged the MCAs to minimize foreign trips and instead opt to spend money within the county in order to develop local economy as well as find more time to debate various Bills lined up in the assembly.

"My government has prepared more than 40 Bills which are tied to the need to enhance public-private partnership in order to create more opportunities for investment and wealth creation," he said.

Newly elected Speaker of the county assembly, Florence Mwangangi said the two arms of government was obliged to meet the expectations of the residents in charge of their responsibilities.
