Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has said Nyamira residents should not blame him when they miss tenders.
According to the county chief, when tenders arise residents are asked to apply and only the successful are considered.
“I don’t allocate tenders just because I know a certain contractor. The law is followed when allocating tenders to applicants. I wish to advise those who miss the opportunities to stop blaming me instead they should blame their application procedure and qualifications,” he said.
Nyagarama urged Nyamira locals to apply for tenders once they arise and stop the last minute rush which ends up locking them out.
“When tenders arise in the county residents should apply in time to avoid the last minute rush. No one will be favored when giving tenders and any county official found engaging in corruption to favor friends for tenders will be sacked and arrested,” he added.
