On Thursday, Kuria said that the talks over IEBC should follow and base on the interests of Kenyans and the constitution.

“As much as we have agreed to dialogue with Cord leaders over the IEBC matter, they should not come with any conditions,” said Kuria on Phone.

The vocal MP said that opposition leaders are known for demanding things that cannot be done.

He said that dialogue on IEBC should majorly base on what the constitution says.

The MP also asked Cord leaders to halt their protests as they dialogue over the matter.

“Cord must announce an end to demonstrations even as we prepare for talks, added the Gatundu South Constituency lawmaker.

Kuria is among those who have been nominated to represent Jubilee in the joint select team tasked to dialogue over the IEBC matter.

On Wednesday President Uhuru Kenyatta said that a joint parliamentary committee involving representatives from opposition and other sectors will be put in place to address the matters being raised against the electoral body.

Cord leader Raila Odinga is expected to make the oppositions stand on the move by the government to dialogue.

Cord had last week nominated a five member team to leader the talks on its side.

The cord team is bungled by Machakos senator Johnston Muthama and his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.

Cord has been holding weekly protests demanding resignation of IEBC commissioners. The opposition leaders allege that the IEBC plans to rig the 2017 elections in favour of Jubilee government.
