Gusii Internally Displacement Persons (IDPs) have challenged the national government to investigate and compensate the genuine IDPs than compensating bogus ones.
Gusii IDPs led by their co-coordinator Alfred Akama said that there is a section of bogus Gusii IDPs who want to benefit from the government compensation behind the backs of the genuine ones.
Addressing the press in Kisii town on Sunday, Akama alleged that a section IDPs led by Reverent Nemuel Momanyi are bogus and are not genuine and the government should investigate before it compensates them.
“The government has delayed compensating Gusii IDPs because Nemuel Momanyi had presented bogus IDPs names to the government to benefit, I want to urge the government to launch an investigation to know who are genuine,” said Akama.
“ I have been leading these IDPS since 2007 up to now and my group is genuine let the government complete its investigation and compensate us," added Akama.
Reverent Nemuel Momanyi who is alleged to be leading the bogus IDPs denied the allegations saying that he is and remains to be the person leading the group of genuine IDPs since 2007.
