National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have no authority to criticize Thursday’s repeat presidential election, Lari MP Jonah Mburu has said. The lawmaker has called upon opposition politicians not to comment on the October 26 poll until all regions have voted following the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election by the Supreme Court. Speaking in Kimende Town on Saturday, the MP said leaders aligned to the alliance need to keep mum until the results from the different regions in the country are announced by IEBC. Mbura argued that leaders from Migori, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Siaya have been very vocal in opposing the election yet voting has not taken place in the four counties. The MP claimed said opposition leaders are bitter because President Uhuru Kenyatta garnered votes from all regions in the country.“They are angry because Uhuru has received immense support from all regions,” said Mbura, as quoted by The Star. The lawmaker said Uhuru garnered 65,781 votes in the constituency and lauded residents for turning up in large numbers to vote for the President.“We gave Uhuru 86 percent of our votes. We are among the highest in the county,” he said.Mbura was accompanied by Kijabe MCA Nyutu Wamweya who urged residents to maintain peace before and after the announcement of the final results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
