As the mass voter registration exercise enters the tail end of its second week politicians have been trotting across the country persuading Kenyans to participate in the civil exercise.Top politicians from both sides of the divide that is Jubilee and Cord have also been on the forefront notably President Uhuru Kenyatta his deputy William Ruto and opposition chiefs Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi. The politicians have also resorted to different ways of inducing Kenyans to register with some methods sounding rather harsh or archaic, ranging from a phobia, gifts and giving heroic titles to those who have squeezed their thumbs on the biometrics. The Deputy President William Ruto while sensitising voters at Langas on Wednesday encouraged ladies not to go out on a date with men who has no voters card. The DP instructed the ladies only to go out with men who have an ID and a voters card because they are the only ones who have a sense of direction towards a brighter future.
