Majority Leader Aden Duale has called on local administrators to ensure issuance of National Identification cards to all Kenyans of age 18 and above without discrimination.
Speaking in Nakuru on Saturday when he met Muslim community, Duale said the issuance of IDs should not be politicized by any state officer neither should there be discrimination.
“We want county commissioners, sub-county commissioners, assistant county commissioners and the chiefs to ensure issuance of IDs to all people including the Muslim community. It is a shame if a Kenyan is denied ID," he said.
The Garissa Town legislator drummed support for President Uhuru Kenyatta. The MP said Jubilee has been 'friendly' to the Muslim community.
He also took an issue with Nasa leader Raila Odinga over the ongoing stalemate in the country over October 26 poll.
“Anyone who will interfere with voters or IEBC officials on October 26 will face the wrath of law,” said Duale.
On his part Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui vowed to work closely with the Muslim community in Nakuru in ensuring development for all.
The meeting was also attended by Nakuru Town East Deputy County Commissioner Omar Haji Salat and Nakuru Town West Deputy County Commissioner Elmi Shaffie.
