Nyamira County Assembly Majority Whip Peter Maroro claims opposition leader Raila Odinga's remarks on fraudulent voter registration should be taken seriously.
Maroro, further adds that President Uhuru Kenyattta and his team could be guilty based on their swift response to Odinga.
On Tuesday, Odinga claimed that the state had planted spy agencies in voter registration team that targets to register foreigners.
"Raila had been unearthing several scandals and we usually see Jubilee denying. His remarks should not be taken lightly and its time relevant agencies take up the matter," he told the reporter on phone.
He added: "The quick manner in which the government responded shows that something fishy is taking place. The claims could be true and that is why the government is panicking."
He also urged IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to pick up the issue and address it before it escalates to a 'serious' political crisis.
recently, Odinga had claimed that his ID had been used to register an unidentified voter, claims which were admitted indirectly by Chebukati.
