Eldoret Residents Association (ERA) has urged Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago to ensure his yet to be unveiled cabinet has the face of the county.
Association's chairman Richard Kemboi says Mandago should keep his pre-election pledge of forming an an all-inclusive government.
Speaking in Eldoret on Thursday, Kemboi noted that the county was divided along tribal lines during the gubernatorial contest and appointment of the County Executive Committee members (CeC's) provides a perfect opportunity to unite the communities.
The Battle between Mandago and tycoon Zedekiah Bundotich Buzeki saw Uasin Gishu residents divided with the majority of Kalenjin community rallying behind the governor while the Agikuyu community and other Non Kalenjins supported Buzeki.
"We hope that the governor will not renege on his pre-election promise by making all key appointments a preserve of only communities that voted for him in the concluded August polls," Kemboi noted.
"Being the home turf of Deputy President William Ruto, it was wise for Mandago to ensure the face of Kenya is reflected in his government so as not embarrass DP," he added.
The governor advertised ten positions for CeC and 16 for Chief Officers which he expects to fill once the county assembly begins sittings.
Members of County Assembly (MCAs) currently in Mombasa for a two-week retreat and are expected to resume sittings next week, Tuesday.
