Education Cs Fred Matiang'i. He has been urged to intervene to punish head teachers employing unqualified ECDE teachers in Kisii County. [Photo/standard.co.ke]Headteachers in primary schools in Kisii have been warned against employing unqualified teachers to teach kids.
This is after a school head teacher at Kenyorora Primary School in Kisii South allegedly sacked 2 teachers who had met all the qualifications and left those still at college.
A source who requested for anonymity said the head teacher on Wednesday sacked the two female teachers under unclear reasons.
“We are registered with TSC but those who were left to continue teaching the kids are still in college studying part-time without certificates or TSC numbers. We want the head teachers in primary schools to stop violating the laws set by the ministry of education and TSC,” the source said.
The source added that most head teachers consider employing relatives and close friends.
“We want the county government to come to our rescue and ensure those being given opportunities to serve as BOG teachers are qualified and meets all the requirements set by the education ministry,” she noted.
