The Women in Business national chairperson Mary Muthoni has urged more women to join politics and stop fearing men.

Muthoni who also doubles as the national director representing the Centre Kenya Region on the Kenya National Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) said women should not fear to compete against men in politics.

"We are many, learned and others even head big companies and industries across the country. We are able to vie for political seats without fearing men," said Muthoni.

She said the era when women were classified as weaker vessels in politics is long gone.

"The issue that women are weak in politics come to pass long long time ago and women now are strong and bold for the political seats," she added.

Muthoni was speaking on Thursday in Nyamira County during the relaunching of the KNCCI office Nyamira Chapter.

She encouraged women to stop pleading to get nominations hence promised to campaign for any woman who is willing to vie for a political seat.
