Former Taita Taveta Women Representative Joyce Lay has warned Coast residents against voting for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.Speaking during a meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Coast region politicians at Serani Grounds on Monday, Lay argued that the former Premier does not have the interests of the locals at heart.Lay who lost in her bid for Taita Taveta senator accused Raila of allegedly taking the region for granted despite the support he received during the August 8 poll."Coast residents, I now believe that you are aware that you are not in the opposition agenda. If truly Coast is in their plans, they have principals but none is from Coast. Just recently, you gave them many elective seats but when they reached parliament, you were not given even the minority leader slot,” she said.She urged residents to support President Uhuru's re-election bid, arguing that the President has confirmed that he has the interests of the locals at heart thus it will only be fair to reward him.
