Cord leader Raila Odinga has told Ukambani residents not to be lured by cheap development projects the Jubilee government is promising them.
Odinga said that Jubilee government is using development projects to bribe for Ukambani votes.
Raila claimed that Jubilee government has been unable to fulfill development projects it made to Kenyans.
“Jubilee leaders should not fool you (locals) with cheap development which they have even failed to fulfill,” he said.
The Cord leader asked Jubilee to stop using development to woe voters.
He said that it was the right of every Kenyan to access development.
Raila also laughed off the Maendeleo Chap Chap slogan by Governor Alfred Mutua saying it is one of the Jubilee’s strategy to woe Ukambani votes.
The Cord leader urged Ukambani people to remain firm in Cord. He assured them that the coalition will make the next government come 2017.
In the recent past, Jubilee has been making tours of the Ukambani in what analysts say is a vote hunt.
Early last month President Uhuru Kenyatta made a three day State visit to the region where he launched development projects.
Deputy President William Ruto has also made several trips to the region in the recent past.
