A lawyer has caused a stir in the drama surrounding Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's decision by appointing NRM leader Dr Miguna Miguna as his deputy by saying the county chief should be sent to prison.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi, who is one of Sonko greatest critics said Sonko dose not qualify as a leader and belongs to prison.
"It is wrong to impeach Hon Governor Sonko. It is right to send him back to prison so that he serves the remainder of his jail term," Ahmednasir said in tweet.
The two have been at loggerheads for long time and have been engaging in social media 'war'. On May 11, Sonko took on Ahmednasir questioning the lawyer's competence.
"With all your Cornell University degrees vs my Kamiti, Shimo Prisons and Kenya Methodist University degrees I still beat you at the High Court and Court of Appeal in the Temple Point case. You should stop intimidating Judges," Sonko said.
Ahmednasir made the remark after reports emerged that a section of Jubilee leaders including Jubilee's vice chairman David Murathe are planning to impeach Sonko and eject him out of office.
"Sonko is forestalling his impeachment which has nothing to do with the Deputy Governor’s position but his administration’s dismal performance. He is covering up his mistakes by trying to divert attention," Murathe said.
This comes one day after Sonko appointed Dr Miguna as his deputy following the resignation of his first deputy Polycarp Igathe.
