NASA leaders have opposed the recently imposed dusk-to-dawn curfew on the people of Lamu, Garissa and Tana River Counties.

Terming the curfew as unjustified, the leaders said such a curfew will not resolve any insecurity issues caused by Alshabaab.

Led by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Bungoma Moses Wetang’ula, Siaya counterpart James Orengo and Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, the leaders said that such a curfew will only hurt the voter turnout.

They said nobody understands why interim Interior CS Fred Matiang’i “rushed to make the decision”, instead of using the time to mourn the death of Joseph Nkaissery.

“You can easily defend your territory from within your territory, not by occupying another territory,” Wetang’ula said.
