The Seventh Day Adventist Church has blamed Boigesa village, Sameta sub-county mother-in laws for breaking their sons marriages through their negative matriarch influence.
Ruth Miyienda,a women Ministry leader Irongo SDA Church, in Gesure sub-location attributed challenges facing young marriages in the area to negative influence.
Speaking at Boronyi SDA Church in Giasaiga sub-location,during a women ministry sabbath day, Miyienda warned mother-in laws against meddling in their sons' marriages.
She instead urged them to counsel and guide them positively on marital challenges facing them.
She challenged mother-in laws to be good role models to young couples.
To strengthen their marriage institutions instead of disheartening them on the choices of their partners.
Parents have no role in deciding the choice of a woman to be married by their sons.
"Marriage is about mutual relationship between two people driven by love," said Miyienda
One of the faithful from Boronyi SDA Church, Hellen Obwogi concurred that, local mother-in laws often interfere or even dictate their sons on the choice of women they want them to marry.
Obwogi noted that this is contrary to the rule of nature that gives everybody a chance to make a choice of a marriage partner based on love without external influence.
"It is true, some of us mother-in law, have been interfering in their son's marriages and even contributing to separations and divorces," said Obwogi.
