Church leaders in Uasin Gishu County have warned the National Super Alliance (NASA) against their plan to swear in Raila Odinga as 'the People's President.'

Led by the County's Gospel ministers Fellowship chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui, the clergy said swearing in Odinga will amount to anarchy.

Speaking in Eldoret on Friday, Bishop Kurui said such unconstitutional move will only lead to violence and bloodshed.

He asked Odinga together with the NASA leadership and supporters to accept the fact that the country has a duly elected President and wait for the 2022 general elections.

"Swearing in Odinga is calling for more killings, fights and bloodshed which we don't want as Church leaders. NASA should just accept that we now have a President and perhaps wait until the next time we have a Presidential election so that they try their luck," said the Jesus Love Ministries Bishop.

"Odinga and NASA leaders may not be killed but such an act will likely cause many people to suffer," he added.

When addressing supporters in Nairobi last Tuesday, the same day President Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn in for the second term in office, Odinga said he would be sworn in on December 12 which will coincidentally be Jamhuri day.Ends
