Siaya senator James Orengo has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to show respect Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.

Orengo said Joho represents the face of a Kenyans who elected him and therefore deserves to accoreded respect.

“I want to tell the government of Kenya his Excellency Governor Joho is a national leader. He is not somebody to be joked about,” he said.

“And when you come to Mombasa you must realize that Mombasa has a government elected by the people of Mombasa,” he added.

Orengo also noted that that he will work together with the ODM governor and the Mombasa woman Representative Mishi Mboko to make sure their party leader Raila Odinga becomes the 5th President of Kenya in the August 8 polls.

He was speaking at the Mombasa Law Courts in Mombasa County, Friday.

Uhuru and Joho made headlines after police officers blocked Joho from attending the Head of State function I Mombasa on Monday saying it was an order from above.
