Wiper party Secretary General Hassan Omar has stated that Nyenze’s concern about the NASA power deal that put their party leader second to Raila Odinga is a show of democracy in the opposition outfit. He also accused the media of fueling rumors about Wiper deserting NASA and promised to stay united beyond August and advised the unsatisfied persons not to lose the bigger picture.“One or two divergent opinions that are not satisfied with a decision is not evidence of cracks. It is often evidence of democracy. Divergence is not division. Divergence is actually a healthy evidence of democracy,” Omar said as quoted by Nation. The Mombasa Senator was responding to Nyenze’s claims that Kambas got a raw deal in NASA. He complained about ODM not honoring their 2013 MoU with Wiper."In my own opinion, the Kamba nation got a raw deal and we do not want anybody to take Kambas for a ride," Nyenze said. However, Omar said such incidences like Nyenze’s complaints prove the level of democracy that exists in their coalition.“Show me absolute unity and I will show you an absolute dictator. Where there is absolute, you realize that there is an absolute dictator. We want our members to debate every issue fundamental to the alliance, but not lose sight of the bigger picture,” said Omar.
