According to Nyamoko, many institutions have put many parents under unnecessary pressure by calling on them to fund various school projects that are not of benefit to students.

"I ask school managements to get a plan of work, put essential things first, like classrooms, dormitories, labs, library and something like a bus to come later," said Nyamoko.

The legislator was speaking on Wednesday during a fundraiser aimed at facilitating construction of a dining hall at Riomego Mixed Secondary School.

The speaker said that such fundraisers could be avoided if schools stopped striving to purchase school buses instead of setting up basic amenities such as classes and dormitories.

Nyamoko's remarks were echoed by Magombo ward MCA Ezra Mochiemo who urged students to put into consideration how their parents struggled to fund structures for their own good and yet they end up destroying them through fire.

"You will be cursed if you involve yourself in destroying the property that your parents who toils in the village to raise money and use it to bring up good learning facilities for you" noted Mochiemo in a function where Governor John Nyagarama was the chief guest.
