Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke has advised on ODM leader Raila Odinga to ignore calls by Garissa MP Aden Duale to respond to claims that he was involved in corrupt deals with the Dominion Farms in Siaya.
Speaking during an interview with NTV's AMLive show on Monday, Mueke called on the investigative agencies to step up and investigate the claims but questioned the timing of the claims.
"This are just allegations against Raila, and I heard Duale calling upon Raila to respond to the claims. If I were Raila, I wouldn't even bother responding. If he has something to do with the Dominion Farm, the the investigative agencies including the parliament should act and do their investigations," he said
"They are claiming that this scandal has been there for ten years, why are they bringing out the matter now when we are just about six months to the elections. This is basically to say that the investigative bodies have not not been doing anything," he added
This comes days a few days after a section of Jubilee Party leaders led by Head of Secretariat Raphael Tuju and National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale asked Odinga to come clean on the alleged extortion from an America investor in Siaya.
“Nyanza has been lagging behind due to such behavior. It is time Raila opened up to Kenyans and explained his position. His silence should end tomorrow when he comes back to the city after campaigns,” Tuju was quoted by the Star.
