Kisii Cereal Board chairman Samuel Moindi said farmers in the county have been selling maize at a low price to brokers.

Moindi advised farmers to keep the maize and sell it later when the price will have gone up if they will not sell it to Kenya Cereal Board, which is offering to buy the product at better price.

“Kisii Cereal Board will have a set price that will be fair to all farmers in the county so that they can bring their maize and we make better payments, which will be paid on time,” Moindi said.

Kisii County is currently on the maize harvesting season.
