A clerih has asked Cord leaders to call off their planned Uhuhru Park rally on June 1 saying the country risks to be cursed.

Bishop Francis Karara who heads the Holy Temple of Christ in Nyandarua County, said; “Kenya will be cursed if leaders prefer political meetings to prayers”.

‘I have a message from Heaven. This country will be cursed. God’s service is to be held at that park as planned. Please tell Kidero and Raila not to send God away,” he said while speaking to this writer on the phone on Monday.

This year’s Madaraka day celebrations will be held at Afraha Stadium Nakuru county, led by president Uhuru Kenyatta, but CORD has said it will hold a similar meeting at Uhuru Park..

Elsewhere, Jubilee leaders have challenged the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy co-principals to call-off the planned Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, saying the venue was hired three days earlier by Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministries.

Led by Kiharu MP Irungu Kang’ata, the leaders said they will attend the prayer meeting and are not ready to back down.

“We shall go for the prayer meeting on Wednesday and we are more than ready. Rev Lucy Wa-Ngunjiri and Prayers Beyond Boundaries had booked the park days before Cord could do it. We are Not backing down” said Kang’ata.

Former Murang’a town mayor Mercy Wakimwe, said, “No one is bigger than God, this country deserves prayers first, and we will be at Uhuru park come 1st June”.

The two who accompanied by six MCAs from Murang’a County were speaking to journalists in Mai Mahiu Naivasha on Sunday.
