Governor Hassan Joho has urged Mombasa residents not to shame him by supporting the Jubilee coalition.
Joho said he was ODM's second in command and depends on the residents to deliver the country from the shackles of the Jubilee government.
Addressing his supporters in Majengo area on Tuesday, the governor said Jubilee had come up with impossible tactics to confuse Mombasa residents, but urged them not to bow to their antics.
He instead urged the residents to vote out Jubilee during the next general election.
“I am the deputy party leader of ODM which means that I'm second in command after our party leader Raila Odinga. It is only a matter of time before the ODM baton is passed to me, so I urge you to be patient in ODM as we shall taste victory together come next year,” said Joho.
The county boss hit out at the Jubilee government telling them not to expect the support of Coastal people, since they had failed to deal with historical injustices such as land issues and unemployment.
“The government was not aware that people of Mombasa were present in this country for the past four years. Now that it is only a few months to the elections, they have suddenly realised that they need us. This people have nothing good for us,” said Joho.
