Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that his government risks collapsing if he does not tackle corruption effectively.
Muthama said the alleged rampant graft in Uhuru’s administration is likely to bring him down.
Speaking to journalists in Kangundo town on Monday, Muthama said Uhuru’s administration has broken the record in terms of corruption.
He asked the president not to show any mercy if he wants to succeed in his second and final term.
“President Kenyatta’s government risks being pulled down by massive graft if he does not take action urgently,” Muthama said.
The former senator said the fight against graft will be successful if Kenyatta cracks the whip on individuals linked to it some of who he claimed could be his friends.
Muthama while lauding the government purge on graft, asked the investigating and prosecuting agencies to move with haste and recover the stolen money.
“The government first action should be to recover the stolen money and ensure the culprits are prosecuted and jailed,” Muthama added.
The former senator on the same not called for collaborative efforts to win the war against graft.
President Kenyatta's government has been on the spot with alleged massive graft being exposed.
Last week, Public Service PS Lilian Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai were among suspects arrested and charged in court over the Sh9 billion loss at National Youth Service.
