Bishop David Ngari of the Calvary Church in Thika has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to show mercy to State officials named and implicated in corruption scandals.

Ngari said that Uhuru must crack the whip on all those linked to corruption scandals in a bid to save his legacy.

Speaking to journalists in Thika Town on Monday, the Calvary Church Bishop said that wanton graft is tainting the image of Uhuru's administration.

He said that the President's Big Four development agenda could be crippled by the runaway graft in his government.

“President Kenyatta should not fear anyone and must execute his mandate and save the public coffers from greedy looters,” he said.

Ngari said that Kenyans are angered by the massive corruption cases being witnessed in the country, adding that the President must save himself by dealing firmly with the perpetrators.

He said that the country could plunge into economic crisis if the looters are not dealt with accordingly.

The Bishop also asked religious leaders to come out and condemn corruption, adding that the Church's silence on corruption is worrying.

Ngari also asked Kenyans to be vigilant and guard their public resources against corrupt government officials.

On Monday, several government officials were arrested in connection to the fresh Sh8 billion NYS scam.

The officials among them Public Service Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo and NYS Director General Richard Ndubai are were arraigned in court today (Tuesday) to answer to charges of corruption.

This comes as the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji says that he has directed for thorough probe into the other corruption scandals at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB),  Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Youth Fund.
