[Photo/Daily Nation]Central Organisation of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has reiterated his earlier calls for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga.Atwoli said for the current political crisis to come to an end, the two leading politicians must sit down together and come up with amicable solution to the stalemate.Speaking on Thursday, he disclosed that he had written a letter to both Uhuru and Raila but only the opposition leader had responded."As a unionist, I work with both opposition and government. I have written to both asking them to accept dialogue on electoral problems. Raila responded but Uhuru has been silent on the matter," said Atwoli during a funeral in Kericho County. He cautioned theJubilee Party leadership against treating members of the opposition with contempt, saying they also have millions of supporters ready to take any instructions from their leaders. The COTU boss appealed to the President to consider meeting Raila before the planned swearing in, warning that chaos may break out after the January 30 fete."The Jubilee leaders must not forget that the country’s economy suffered Sh20 million loss during the first week of NASA boycott calls. That was unfortunate. As workers we don’t want the country take the same route," said Atwoli.
