Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has warned the Ruto supporters that Kiambu governor William Kabogo's recent sentiments should be treated with the seriousness they deserve arguing that they carried more weight than imagined.
Speaking on Sunday after joining former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in a funds drive at Ndanai catholic church, Midiwo noted that Kabogo spoke on behalf of many leaders from the region.
"Kabogo is not mad to utter such serious and sensitive sentiments about Ruto's candidature in 2022, there is more than meets the eye here," he said.
According to Midiwo, it was worth concern that the battle lines had already been drawn almost a year to the general elections and cautioned politicians not to make statements that risk polarising the country.
"If you ask me, the sentiments were true and highlight a general feeling of the Mt Kenya region.
"Let us not be reckless less we take our country back to the dark moments as witnessed in 2007," Midiwo added.
Kabogo is on record saying that deputy president William Ruto will not receive any political support from the Mt Kenya region if he vies for the presidency in 2022.
