Mandera County MCAs have warned governor Ali Roba against intimidating and threatening county employees who did not support him in the election.
27 MCAs allied to the Economic Freedom Party said if Roba's administration continue to threaten the employees a legal action will be taken. They said the Roba should leave the civil servants alone since it was their democratic right to support a candidate of their choice.
MCAs affiliated to EFP are the majority in the county, while Roba's Jubilee forms the minority.
The MCAs led by Takaba MCA Bishar Maalim, accused some individuals who are working under instructions from Roba.
Maalim said the individuals have been moving round in each department profiling public servants who did not support Jubilee during the August 8 polls threatening to sack or demote them.
"Roba should not intimidate civil servants because of their political stand in the August polls. Some employees have even been served sacking letters", Maalim said.
"No illegal sackings will be allowed on innocent workers. The matter should be discussed at county assembly", he noted.
