As the race for the Nairobi county gubernatorial seat heats, a section of Western MPs have dismissed former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende's candidature for the coveted seat saying they will not support his bid.
This comes barely a week after Mr Marende joined the long list of aspirants interested in leading the country's richest county, something that has not gone down well with a number of politicians.
According to the MPs, they will not allow someone with 'selfish interests' to scuttle their ambitions.
Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba cautioned the former speaker saying that he will face the full wrath of the community if he does not withdraw his candidature and instead support Wamalwa.
"This is our strong message to leaders out to sabotage Wamalwa's chances of becoming the governor. We will shame them and they will face political rebellion," Namwamba said during the 13th anniversary of the former Vice President Wamalwa Kijana who was the brother to the Water CS Eugene Wamalwa.
