Ababu's resignation follows that of Funyula MP Paul Otuoma who resigned last Saturday as ODM's second national vice chair.

The two had expressed their frustration accusing certain party members of stifling them to run their mandates in the party.

And now Sospeter Ochengo, a member of the Abagusii elders says Raila should not underrate the action of the duo as it tells a lot about the fate of the party in the forthcoming elections.

"When a key party leader and supporter quits, then we don't need to wait to be told that there is something wrong in the ODM house," said Ochengo.

He further noted that Otuoma and Ababu departure will have an negative impact on Raila's chances of getting the presidency in 2017  because it clearly indicates how he can't manage and control his own people.

"If you can't manage and control the ones who are assisting you to win, how can you manage a nation that has even your opposers? Let Raila put his house in order because if things continue the way they are, then it might be tough for him  in 2017," he added.
