The vertinaries condemned activists for using animals to express their feelings on corruption.

On Monday five donkeys were found chained at Kenyatta avenue with graffitis condemning corruption.

Addressing journalists in Kabete on Tuesday led by Dr Samuel Kahariri the vertinaries said that no animal should be used in any kind of demonstration.

"The donkeys were tied with chains and their welfare was compromised,” said Kahariri.

Kahariri adds that the CBD environment is also not good for animals.

"CBD is not only unsuitable for animals but also people. This is why we do not have residential houses in the CBD,” said Kahariri.

They further noted that the use of animals in demonstrations by the civil society in Kenya has become rampant, a trend they discouraged.

"We condemn this incidence and others that have happened there before and ask the law enforcers to take action in accordance to Animal Protection Act,” said Kahariri.
