Kirinyaga Governor hopeful Martha Karua has said that she will win the seat with over 80 per cent of votes.

The former Gichugu MP claims that she has the numbers to beat her rivals in the governor race.

Karua further says that she is not afraid of former Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Anne Waiguru.

The Narc Kenya Party leader said that her development track record as former Minister and MP gives her an edge over rivals.

“I will win the Kirinyaga seat with over 80 per cent and rivals should brace up for a bruising battle on August 8th,” she said as quoted by The Star.

Karua asked locals not to be confused by some politicians who she claimed have no integrity to run for political office.

She warned that the county will continue to lag behind on development if politicians with questionable character are elected.

Karua at the same time said that she will not tolerate corruption if elected governor. She believes that corruption is to blame for social economic challenges facing the country.

Karua will be competing against Waiguru and incumbent Joseph Ndathi for the Kirinyaga top seat.

Waiguru is contesting on a Jubilee Party ticket and has dismissed Karua and others saying they have nothing to offer Kirinyaga people.
