The Deputy President William Ruto has demanded an explanation from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka concerning how they used public funds while in government.
Speaking at Changamwe in his vote hunt mission at the coast, Ruto said that the two veteran politicians do not have the moral consent to judge the Jubilee government because they did nothing while in power.
Ruto told coast residents not to vote for Raila and Kalonzo because they misused the billions that Jubilee is now using for infrastructural development.
He advised them to choose a flag bearer earlier who will end up being the leader of opposition after the August polls.
Ruto said, “They should tell us where billions of shillings now being used to build the railway and roads were going.”
The DP also pointed out the lack of development agenda in opposition team. Ruto complained about how the opposition concentrates on holding successful protests at the expense of economic planning.
“Our competitors have no clue on how to end poverty. They are only good at organising protests. That is why the fight in August polls will be between us who are for development and our rivals’ empty rhetoric,” said Ruto.
