Maalim says that political aspirants who have no realistic agenda and manifestos do not deserve to hold public office.

The Wiper Party deputy leader that visionary leaders are needed to push development agenda forward.

Addressing supporters in Garissa, Maalim observed that most of politicians running for political office don’t have agenda for the people.

“We must avoid and reject people who have no clear development agenda and only vote for people who will add value to our lives as citizens,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

The MP hopeful said that the social, economic and political challenges facing North Eastern region will be addressed if the right leaders are elected to office.

The Wiper Party deputy leader also warned locals against divisive leaders. Maalim said that some politicians are out to fuel division as the country gears up to the August 8 general election.

Maalim called on politicians to spearhead peaceful campaigns and stop perpetuating activities that could spark violence.

The former National Assembly deputy speaker exuded confidence of unseating the incumbent Aden Duale.

Malaim claimed that Duale is a let down to Garissa locals.

Duale has however dismissed Maalim’s bid for the seat claiming that he has no political experience to hold the seat.

The former National Assembly leader of Majority is seeking to defend the seat on Jubilee Party ticket and has vowed to mercilessly beat Maalim in the August polls.
